Hello!
Thank you for checking out our posting for the Sharpener position! We know there are a lot of job opportunities out there, so thank you for taking some time to learn more about us!
In the sharpener position, you will be primarily responsible for putting the cutting edge on all of our instruments by using a bench grinder and following product specifications and guidelines. There is a lot of opportunity to learn a whole new world of production and creating something with your hands. Individuals that enjoy this position are those that enjoy primarily working solo, learning as they go, and have artistic or creative hobbies. Additionally, individuals that have worked in client or public - facing roles and are ready for some quiet also enjoy this role. Most of our sharpeners take a seat at their station, plug in their favorite audiobook, podcast, music, or simply ear protection, and go to town! We understand that this skillset is one that takes time to learn, refine, and master; so we provide 100% on-the-job-training, with the understanding that you may not be able to produce at the level of your peers for several months. Slow and steady wins the race, right?
As a sharpener, you can expect to work early - our sharpening team begins their shifts between 5 and 7 am. You will also have access to our complete benefit package: health, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA contribution, paid time off, paid holidays, profit sharing, 401k match, company-paid Direct Primary Care membership, and more! We truly believe that our team is invaluable, and we understand that we need to work as hard for our team as they work for PDT.
In summary, if you're someone who's looking to make a career change to something entirely new, or have experience in manufacturing and want to apply it here, as well as want to be yourself at work, have great work/life balance, and be part of a growing, dynamic team, feel free to fill out our application! With a resume, it should only take about 5 or 10 minutes.
Thank you again for taking time to review this post, and if you have any questions, or would like a full job description, feel free to email our HR department at human.resources@pdtdental.com.
Have a great rest of your day!
Cheers,
The PDT Talent Acquisition Team
